Chakke

When an unripe Jackfruit is cut, a lot of sticky latex oozes out. So before cutting this Jackfruit, Thayi coated the knife and cutting board with coconut oil.

Here in the pic our maid is struggling to cut a raw jackfruit which is full of sticky latex that no ordinary soap can get rid off…..

Ponappa,
Amazing pictures, each one of them. Thanks for doing this, the paddy fields and paddy harvesting have become thing of the past, sad.
You mention a Jammada house, I am Jammada and was wondering whose house that was. Loved reading through your blog, after living in the west for the past 15 years I have a strong urge to go back to Coorg and retire.
Cheers
